Ingredients
  

  • 3 pound 1 whole Chicken
  • Homemade spice mix as per need
  • Water 1 and ½ cup
For Stuffing Whole Chicken
  • Onions 2 cut into 2 slices
  • Celery
  • Lemon slices halved 2
  • Crush garlic 2
  • Salt and pepper

Equipment

  • 6 quart instant pot
  • A trivet or stainless stand
  • A pair of tongs to hold a whole chicken

Method
 

  1. Pat dry whole chicken with a kitchen towel. Rub the spice mix onto the whole Chicken on both sides. Stuff chicken cavity with onions, celery, lemons, and crush garlic. Tie chicken legs with a string and tuck in the wings.
  2. Place trivet in the instant pot. Pour 1and 1/2 cup water into a 6-quart instant pot. Add 2 cups water if you are using 8-quart an instant pot. You can also use chicken stock.
     Place whole Chicken with breast side up. Close the lid
  3. Set the valve to sealing. Press manual and set cooking time according to the size of your whole Chicken.

Notes

  • Let NPR for 15 minutes.
  • Rest the meat for 10 minutes on the cutting board. It helps to redistribute chicken juices, and you get a juicy, moist, and tender chicken.
