Every homeowner wish to make healthy food without sticking into trouble. Small appliances make this easy, while you can not avoid hacks if you do not know how to tackle little issues with them. When it comes to microwaves, unpleasant smell like burnt is very common. I would tell you how to get rid of the smell in the microwave oven following an easy step.
I’m going to show you how to get rid of this smoke smell in your own microwave. I burn mine two weeks ago and it took a while to figure it out. However, this process is not a one-time shot, you have to try it at least a few times. Meanwhile, a couple of things you have to remember is
- Do not use the cover during the whole process
- Do not repeat the process one after another
- You have to wait at least an hour or two before repeating
The burnt or smoke smell generally gets stuck in the fan of the microwave. So, you have to fan it out more to get rid of that the smoke or burnt.
It is going to fade away gradually, but it’s going to take a while.
USE SKIN OF ORANGE OR LEMON
- It takes the skin of the orange, lemon, or grapefruits. I would take the skin of an orange. You just need to make some cuts over it. Use a knife to cut the skin, it should actually make it a bit spongy.
- Now take a bowl with little water, put the skin in it, keep the bowl inside your microwave to turn it on for at least two minutes.
- They’re going to suck in all the smoke or burnt smell. When you are done, do not open the microwave door, you have to wait like five minutes.
- After five minutes open the door, and you can see the skin of the orange from the water is going to make the mercury sweat.
- Now, clean the sweat all over and take the bowl out of it. You can see that the skin of the orange or lemon smells smoke and burnt.
I would recommend you to repeat the process with new water and a piece of skin. Meanwhile, when you clean it up, wait for them actually to cool down and try again.
SPONGE IT OUT VIA VINEGAR
Using vinegar to end the burnt smell in the microwave oven is another useful way. Just soak your sponge with vinegar, put some baking soda over it, and microwave for few seconds, Ideally, for 30 seconds.
Now use the sponge to clean the glass tray and door of your microwave.
USE BAKING SODA OR COFFEE GROUND
Baking soda is also a good source to get a burnt smell out of the microwave. All you need to do is keep baking soda in a plate of the box on a microwave tray.
Leave the baking soda inside for a few hours or you can do it for a whole night. Keep the machine unplug completely.
In the same way, if you have a smart coffee maker then you must have grouds in the kitchen. Put some coffee grounds in a bowl for 6 to 7 hours.
Alternately, I would suggest you microwave a dummy cup of coffee in your machine. Just take a cup of water, put 2 tablespoons of grounds for 2 to 3 minutes. This will surely help you remove the smell in the microwave.
