Easy Tanghulu Recipe
Materials
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
Instructions
- Wash the hawthorn and set on bamboo sticks
- Pour water, sugar into a medium-sized saucepan and mix well. Cook until mixture thickens, bubble form and mixture turn golden brown
- Add lemon juice, stir, turn off the heat. Keep the saucepan on the stove.
- Quickly dip the ready hawrton bamboo stick into caramel syrup. Set for a few seconds and serve immediately.

- Hawthorn is a prevalent candied fruit that is traditionally used in China for making tanghulus.
- Lemon juice prevents the crystallization of sugar syrup. It's the easiest and perfect way to make a flawless caramel candy syrup if corn syrup or honey is not available.
