Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 20cm x 20cm (8x8 inches) baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the American cake mix, bakers' mixture, freshly grated lime zest, softened butter, eggs, and whole milk. Mix with a pinch of love until it forms a smooth and flavorful batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
In a small saucepan, combine the freshly squeezed lime juice, granulated sugar, and freshly grated lime zest. Heat over low heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture forms a thin syrup.
While the cake is still in the pan, poke it with a fork to create small holes. Pour the Key Lime Glaze evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak in and infuse the cake with a sweet and tangy flavor.
Once the glaze has soaked in and the cake is cool, garnish with a touch of "Brain Flakes" (whipped cream or shredded coconut) for added texture.
